Ssebataya John "Baya"
Total Needed: $70/month
Nalukwago Jovita
Total Needed: $16/month
Baya is a bright 7 year old little boy in need of a new sponsor. When we first found Baya, he was living with his father and step mother in the dusty Kireku slum area of Kampala. He lived with his full sister who has an undiagnosed cognitive/emotional disability as well as his step sister who had severe cerebral palsy secondary to cerebral malaria. Due to neglect and abuse from the step-mother, we pushed for Baya and his sister to be put in boarding school where they are now thriving. Baya is in need of a new sponsor to continue his education. To sponsor Baya for the whole $70 per month or any other amount, visit ecmafrica.org/projects/precious-in-his-sight and click "give." Your gift of sponsorship will change Baya's life.
DOB: December 28th, 2021 Jovita is almost 4 years old. She is the only daughter in the family and stays with her mother and three brothers, including her older brother Jordan who has both cognitive and physical disabilities. Their father was accused of a crime and has been incarcerated for several years awaiting trial, which does not yet have a set date. Their mother sells firewood and walks several miles to a plot where a family member allows her to farm cassava to feed her family.

Nabatanzi Salama
Total Needed: $70/month
Age: 18 Salama is the older sister of one of our children who has cerebral palsy, Abass. She is a good older sister and has been studying well. Tragically, Salama and Abass' father was recently in an accident and is unable to work, along with medical expenses. Soon after, Salama's mother was also in an accident and is no longer able to do her previous job as a school cleaner. She has instead been financially empowered to start a roadside stall selling chips (french fries) but the business is just now going to be starting. As a Senior 4 student, Salama is considered a "candidate" this year, meaning that she is preparing to take national examinations this year. If she does not finish this year, she will not have the opportunity to continue her education and will have great difficulty finding a decent job. If she completes this year, she will have the option either to continue her education or to begin working and will have more opportunities for careers that will provide for her in the future.

Nakanjako Scovia
Total Needed: $34/month
Nakanjako is a joyful young lady who has a cognitive disability. We don't know her age or much of her history because she was abandoned by her family but her mind is very child-like. The church where we hold therapy days in Nakifuma has become her home and different people in the church care for her, but those people are vulnerable and struggling themselves. Our occupational therapist has worked with her and the lady who cares for her mostly to help her become more independent and we've helped with small things like hygiene supplies, but more ongoing support is needed to make sure that she has consistent access to food.
